C and I had a picnic lunch at Selwyn River today. We managed to escape the easterly wind and find a secluded spot. Lucy retrieved sticks and chased butterflies while we waded in the impossibly clear water. The wildflowers down there were so pretty! I love exploring days, do you?
I can remember your Nana collecting the orange Escholtzias when we were first at Merrin street and planting them up the drive. They are an icredibly sunny flower. A lovely way to spend Waitangi day. I painted window sills etc but it was at Arthur's Pass and I could hear the keas so it felt like a holiday.
ReplyDeleteIt was a lovely day, and I think Nana was onto something there... Sounds like Arthurs Pass would have been lovely and relaxing!
